Fishery Rules


  • The River Season opens on May 1st and closes on October 15th. The Lakes will remain open all year, weather permitting.
  • A current E.A Rod Licence is required by all visiting anglers, please make a note of the number when signing in
  • There is no need to sign in at the HQ at present due to Covid regulations, so please go direct to the beat and disinfect boots and nets there before fishing.
  • No dogs are permitted on the Fisheries, please do not leave them in vehicles.
  • Upstream dry fly fishing , unless the conditions dictate that an Upstream Nymph is the only option.
  • No catch and release. All Trout over 13" should be retained until the Bag limit is reached. Please do not intentionally catch and release fish after you have caught your limit.
  • The daily bag limit is 5 Trout (Brown or Rainbow) for a Single or Shared Rod.The bag limit for two rods (with a Guest ticket) is 8 Trout.
  • All species other than Trout must be returned to the water unharmed.
  • Fishing must be from the bank only, no wading is allowed.
  • Anglers are requested to only use the paths indicated on the map. Please do not walk on or fish any beat other than the one allocated to you on a specified day.
  • Fishing will commence at 09.00, except for Beat 1 which can be accessed from 09.30
  • Parking and access for Beat 1 is by  kind agreement with the proprietor of the Mayfly. Please only occupy one of the Parking spaces adjacent to the road and do not access the beat before 09.30. Your adherence to this will ensure we can continue to enjoy this privilege.
  • Fishing dates and Beats are not transferable, and may not be passed on as auction prizes or sold to other organisations or individuals.
  • In the interest of animal welfare, please dispatch fish with a suitable implement, before it is unhooked. Any fish that is to be returned should not be taken out of the water, but unhooked in the net where possible.
